Mohamad Ali-Dib
Chercheur postdoctoral Trottier
Research field : Solar System, planet formation, exoplanets
Description of the research project: Mohamad's research focuses on connecting the chemical composition of giant planets and small bodies to their formation process, both in the solar system and for exoplanets. For this goal, he creates numerical models that incorporate the chemical and physical aspects of disks evolution, in addition to planet formation physics.
During his Ph.D. thesis, he focused on finding the link between the chemical composition of giant planets, and their formation location with respect to the major volatile condensation fronts in disks. He then went on to create end-to-end planet formation models connecting a giant planet's chemical composition to its entire formation track.
He is also interested in the applications of machine learning and computer vision in astrophysics.
