Three students members of the CRAQ received awards at the CASCA 2009 annual meeting.

Anne Archibald, from McGill University, and Sandie Bouchard, from Université de Montréal, were the recipients of the Best Scientific Oral Presentation and Best Scientific Poster, respectively, during the 2009 Annual meeting of the Canadian Astronomical society (CASCA), held in Toronto on the 26-29 of May 2009. Pierre-Emmanuel Tremblay, from UdeM, also received a distinction for his poster.

The CASCA is a Canadian society of professional astronomers created in 1971 and incorporated according to Canadian Laws in 1983. The society was given the goal to promote and develop knowledge of the Universe via research and teaching. In order to acknowledge the efforts toward excellence of students, the society created, in 1996, prices awarded for the best student's presentations at the annual meeting. The judges for these are members of the Board of Directors of the society.
