The 2014 edition of the annual meeting of the Canadian Astronomical Society, organized by the Groupe de recherche en astrophysique de l'Université Laval, will take place in Québec City on the 8th through the 12th of June 2014. This meeting will be an occasion to share with other researchers throughout the country all of the latest Canadian discoveries in all fields of astronomy.

The Canadian Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics (CCUWiP), to be held at McGill University, is a new Canadian conference aimed at undergraduate women in physics programs. It gives students in physics the unique opportunity to explore a variety of career paths both in industry and academia and the chance to develop a network with fellow students in physics. This conference allows undergraduates to interact with women in physics of all ages with whom they can share experiences, advice and ideas.

The CCUWiP will feature:

  • Talks from Leaders in the Industry and Academia
  • Laboratory Tours
  • Networking opportunities
  • Research Poster Session
  • Panel Discussions and Workshops about:
    • Graduate School Applications and Grad Life
    • Careers Paths in Physics in Academia and Industry
    • Undergraduate Research Experience

The CCUWiP will be held in English, but a number of guest speakers and panelists will be able to interact both in French and English.
