Recent Advances In Computational cosmology

The formation of large scale structure in the Universe is sufficiently well understood that we can use the distribution of galaxies to infer the cosmological parameters within 1% accuracy and possibly discover new physics. Precision cosmology requires however to understanding possible theoretical systematic effects coming from our calculations. I will discuss the current level of precision of several popular N body simulation codes. I will also describe emulation techniques to provide surrogate models for the non-linear correction to the matter power spectrum, and finally discuss baryonic effects as an important source of systematics.
