In this talk, I will "warm up" with an overview of the CSTAR Antarctica-based transit survey, continue with an overview of our observational understanding of hot Jupiter formation, and end with a discussion of the constraints provided by the Kepler/K2 TTV analysis on the origin of the ubiquitous compact multiple-planetary systems.
